1. If you’ve only ever tried “sets,” which are small, kinda dry onion bulbs, switch to seeds. I tried to grow onions for YEARS with sets and failed miserably!

2. Plant in deep pots! This allows the roots to grow big, and the seedlings to be robust.

3. Keep them well weeded. Onions have shallow roots and don’t like competition! They are always my first priority when I weed the garden.
Meet "Juliet!" She's an incredible producer, alway Meet "Juliet!" She's an incredible producer, always cranking out loads and loads of tomatoes. And she goes the distance— one of the first to start and last to quit.

This tomato has a great balance of sugar and acid, and good tomato flavor. This is a “mini Roma,” which means it’s much bigger than a grape tomato, but smaller than a normal paste variety.

Use Juliet for fresh salsa, cut up on salads, or as a saucer. It’s a real workhorse— there’s nothing I wouldn’t use these for! This also happens to be my favorite variety for making "sun-dried" tomatoes.

Now, I didn’t say she was my “favorite” tomato here. The truth is I have lots of favorites in different categories, and could never pick just one. But it *is* the perfect variety if you’ve only got room for one plant. I always have at least a couple Juliets in my tomato patch!

DANVERS 126 CARROT
The big ones! These taste great, store well, and always grow super big.

UPSTATE ABUNDANCE POTATO
I've grow 30+ different varieties of potatoes, and this is in my Top 3! Buttery and nutty, ready early, and produces lots of egg-sized spuds.

My favorite cherry tomato. A deep deep red, slightly oblong tomato with great flavor and meatiness.

SEDONA ONION
Best onion ever— stunning color, grows big, stores amazing.

SANTEE PURPLE SPROUTING BROCCOLI
Look at that color!! This purple broccoli forms lots of small shoots. I'm a sucker for a purple veggie.

The most beautiful squash I’ve ever grown! It’s frosted with an antique whitewashed bloom. Plus it makes delicious pie.

CYLINDRA BEET
Long skinny beets, these grow really well for me and are great for processing.

CARAFLEX CABBAGE
The loveliest cabbage with its pointed top! Tender, sweet, fast growing, perfect for summer salads and slaws.

Looove adding this to mixed green salads for amazing texture! Makes me feel fancy. Very heat tolerant too.

WINTER SWEET SQUASH
A fast finisher in my northern climate, this squash gets better the longer it stores. Gorgeous color and fantastic keeper!
