Did you know you only need one tree to make maple Did you know you only need one tree to make maple syrup? And it doesn't even have to be a sugar maple!

We tap just two trees every year and we make two gallons of maple syrup. It's one of the most rewarding things we produce, and you really don't need any fancy equipment to do it.

All the details of how we make maple syrup from start to finish, including our very cobbled together homemade setup, are in my instructional video.

If you forced me to pick a favorite recipe from Fr If you forced me to pick a favorite recipe from Freeze Fresh Meal Prep, I'd say it's this rustic strawberry pie!

It's INCREDIBLY delicious, and a perfect way to preserve fresh strawberries. They roast in the oven until they're jammy and swimming in a vibrant strawberry syrup.

I love having this strawberry "pie starter" in the freezer! It takes up a tiny amount of space, and it thaws perfectly— you'd never know it was even frozen! All you have to do is thaw and spread it in a piecrust.

This recipe is in my new book Freeze Fresh Meal Prep, available for preorder now.

Get ready to fill those freezers even more!! I'm s Get ready to fill those freezers even more!! I'm so thrilled to introduce Freeze Fresh Meal Prep!

Available for preorder now wherever books are sold. (And I’d be ever so grateful if you preordered!)

This isn’t your typical “freezer meals” book. The focus of these recipes is on freezing what’s in season and available now, with an eye to having prepared or partially prepared dishes for later. It’s right at the intersection of where preserving meets convenience food!

This is a sweet spot for me as a gardener and lover of fresh foods. Being able to grab something homemade from the freezer and turn it into a quick and tasty dinner feels like having a treasure chest full of gold.

It never fails: more daylight = more eggs! The chi It never fails: more daylight = more eggs! The chickens take their cues from Mother Nature and strut through life unbothered by a modern existence.

They sleep and wake with the sun, no fake light anywhere, just the moon and the stars. They live in the moment, not worrying about to-do lists and dirty dishes.

Oh to be blissfully unaware of the wrongdoings of an entire world, and perfectly in tune with nature! To be honest, I'm a tad jealous. 😅🤪
